The National Apprenticeship and Trade Testing Board

The National Apprenticeship and Trade Testing Board is a statutory body set up under an Act of Parliament to certify trade personnel in Papua New Guinea (PNG). The board co-ordinates two systems:

• The Apprenticeship system, where employers or Registered Training Organisations (RTO) recruit apprentices and train them for four years.
• Trade Testing System, where trade tests are conducted to certify that the candidate is competent in their respective trade.
