Plumbing standard
Plumbing is a trade that specializes in installing and maintaining systems used for potable (drinking) water, sewage and drainage in plumbing systems. The term dates from ancient times and is related to the Latin word for lead "Plumbum".Years of training and/or experience are needed to become a skilled plumber and some jurisdictions also require that plumbers be licensed. Protecting health and welfare of the nation is the top priority of a plumber.
The following workplace competency standards have been identified and prepared by industry people and represent different levels of skills and knowledge required to work within the Office Administration sector of Papua New Guinea.

Level 3
- PL-301 Plan Sub – Soil Drainage
- PL-302 Install Roofing and Stormwater Drainage
- PL-303 Install and Maintain Gas Appliances
- PL-304 Install and maintain Septic Tank System
- PL-305 Design and Install sanitary Plumbing and Drainage Layout
- PL-306 Perform Manual Arc Welding
